Never before have a read a love story so immersive, so immediate, so completely overwhelming. I kept thinking how I couldn’t really believe it was a young adult book – I kept envisioning it sitting on a display on par with The Nightingale. I thought I knew a great deal about both World Wars as I’ve been fascinated by them for most of my life, but not only did I enjoy the plot, I learned a great deal about the front in France and how all the different groups of people who came there for many reasons from all over the world interacted with each other. - SARAH

I highly recommend this book for those who enjoy listening to classic rock or fans of Fleetwood Mac. This is the story, told in transcript, about a fictional rock bands rise to stardom during the late 1960's through the early 1970's. - PAM

One of my favorite historical fiction novels! This is a touching story about families broken apart and families reunited. It is based on real-life historical events: the child trafficking of the 1950s and the black-market baby adoption scheme run by Georgia Tann and the Tennessee Children's Home Society. The book is split into two alternating storylines in two different time periods, which Lisa Wingate juggles remarkably well. I really liked both of the main characters: Rill Foss and Avery Stafford. If you enjoyed Orphan Train, you will enjoy this book as well! - MARY

With amazing artwork and wonderful storytelling, SUNCATCHER weaves a story of music, family, and how far you're willing to go for each. Suspense will grab you on every page as Beatriz’s life is put on the line in her quest to create the perfect song to free her grandfather’s soul. If the vibe of Disney and Pixar's COCO combined with a much darker twist to create a truly exciting read this book is for you! - MARIELLE

Shape-shifter Nimona convinces Lord Ballister Blackheart that he needs her assistance with his evil plans to defeat Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin. The latter is with the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics. And despite its grand name, both Nimona and Blackheart think it’s not as great as everyone says it is. Hilarity and destruction ensue as nothing goes according to their wacky plans in this witty and inventive graphic novel. Nimona is a smart and endearing character, and I dare you not to fall in love with her (in all of her many forms). - JENNIFER

Detective Ralph Anderson is certain that pillar of the community Terry Maitland murdered a local child, so certain that he arrests him in front of nearly their entire town. But as more evidence emerges, it's clear Terry would have had to be in two places at once to commit the murder. If you already like King, you're sure to love The Outsider. But if you pick up his books only here and there like me, this book is very much worth your time. King's writing makes this grisly material unexpectedly fun, and it's a perfect summer mystery, as the events take place amid the brutal July heat in Oklahoma and Texas; the descriptions are so good you'll feel the desert dust in your mouth and the sun on the back of your neck. When you're done, binge the HBO series, which takes a darker spin on the material. - HADLEY

This is a must read Sarah Dessen book. In a summer that was supposed to be filled with SAT studying and a library job, Macy instead finds herself working at a catering crew, meeting an interesting boy named Wes, and dealing with the tragic death of her father. I love this book because it’s funny, and romantic, yet hopeful and complex. I have so many favorite “quotes” from this book because I love the message Macy (and the readers) learn along the way. I highly recommend one of my favorite Sarah Dessen books! - ELISE

Guy Gavriel Kay may be one of the best historical fantasy authors around. In The Lions of Al-Rassan Kay is able to weave a story set in a world that is very similar to that of moorish spain under the Cordoba Caliphate and explores the interactions between the worlds three oldest monotheistic faiths. With a romance, adventure, the end of empires, the hatred of the outsider and the forgivness of those who are differnet and wronged us The Lions of Al-Rassan is a story that is sure to make people think as well as cheer. - DREW

I love the Canterbury Tales. A series of stories told by travelers on their pilgrimage to Canterbury, the Canterbury tales captures the essence of the Middle Ages. From cometary on corrupt religious institutions, to stories whose climax is just a fart joke, The Canterbury Tales has it all. While even the translated climax can take some effort to get through, this timeless collection is a must read for anyone looking to really understand one of the most interesting periods of European history. Or enjoys some funny flatulence. Whatever floats your boat. - CHRISTOPHER

Perfect leisure reading whether you’re at the beach or quarantining at home. - CHARLIE

This book was everything I needed in the form of a cute contemporary romance! It feels so much more than that sometimes because the characters’ lives really surround their respective families. The familial aspect of this story is definitely my favorite and how food plays such a big part of how the family interacts and show love. It made me so hungry reading about the food that Layla’s family makes at their restaurant. The heart of this story really stands with Layla and Sam and their relationship! They had some of the best banter that I’ve read and I found myself eagerly awaiting each of their interactions with each other. Their chemistry was so good and so real and they’ve definitely become one of my favorite fictional couples! - ANNA
