Returns Policy
RETURNS ON DIRECT-TO HOME ORDERS: During the Covid-19 outbreak, we have shipped books directly to people from our warehouse and we, Towne Book Center, have been covering the shipping costs in order to offer free shipping to you, our customers. If you need to return a book that was shipped directly to you, we will offer a refund for the price of the book minus the shipping fees within 30 days of our reopening of the store (date TBD). If you paid for shipping on your direct to home order, we can refund the price of the book, but not the shipping fees. If you would like to exchange the book shipped to you for a book in stock when we reopen, the cost of the book being returned will be deducted from the cost of the new book being purchased and shipping fees will not factor into the transaction. Books may also be returned for store credit for the full price paid for the book (paid shipping cannot be "returned" for store credit). Some items may not be eligible for returns based on the terms of our warehouse.
RETUNABLE ITEMS: Towne Book Center will accept most returns within 30 days of purchase in pristine condition with the original sale receipt. Refunds can only be given in the manner in which the book was paid for. If paid using a credit card, a refund can only be given on that card. If the original method of purchase is unavailable, a gift card will be issued for the price paid for an item. Towne reserves the right to refuse a return for any reason.
NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS: Magazines, discounted merchandise, non-book items, calendars, and select book requests that have been brought in at the customers request are NON-RETURNABLE. To the extent we are able, we will inform you at time of purchase if your item is non-returnable, though these conditions are subject to change without notice.
